Apporto NextGen On-Premises Deployment Guide

Apporto NextGen On-Premises Deployment Guide

The purpose of this document is to aid Apporto customers in setting up on-premises installations of Apporto NextGen software. Please review the section on known issues before beginning deployment.

Introduction

Welcome to the official Apporto NextGen on-premises onboarding journey. This guide is the starting point for planning, deploying, validating, and preparing your hybrid Apporto environment for production use. Follow the sections in order to connect your on-premises infrastructure to the Apporto cloud control plane with a clear path from prerequisites through go-live readiness.

Welcome and support

We are glad to partner with you on your Apporto NextGen deployment. If you have questions during onboarding or need help validating your environment, contact Apporto Support at https://www.apporto.com/support.

Product description

On-premises deployment of Apporto NextGen involves the following:

  • Apporto appliance cluster
This Kubernetes cluster converts standard Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) traffic to Apporto’s Hyperstream. It consists of four (4) nodes deployed as virtual appliances.

  • HAProxy or load balancer
This appliance sits in front of the appliance cluster, provides secure remote access for external users over https, and balances loads across Apporto node connections. Customer will need to provide an HAProxy configuration or your own preferred load balancer or content delivery controller. F5, Fortigate, Progress'Kemp'LoadMaster as other supported solutions.

Go-Live Readiness

Your environment is ready for go-live when the cluster is installed successfully, gateway or load balancer access is working, required resources and applications are configured, user authentication has been validated, and representative users can launch desktops or apps during UAT.

  • All checklist stages are complete and linked guides have been reviewed.

  • Users can authenticate and access assigned resources. During user sync, users may authenticate successfully before the visible user count increments in the control plane.

  • Monitoring, troubleshooting, and support paths are understood by the deployment team.

  • Open issues have an owner, priority, and resolution plan before production launch.
